Programme to Address Institutional Sectarianism and Racism in the Workplace
Louth County Enterprise Board, as a partner in the County Louth Peace and Reconciliation Partnership, will be delivering Activity IV of the County PEACE III plan- addressing Institutional Sectarianism and Racism in the workplace. The project sets out to make the business case for inclusion and diversity to both employers and employees in the small and medium sized business community in the County. Louth County Enterprise Board will undertake a series of workshops between March 2010 and March 2011 to address the issues raised during the research phase of the project. The workshops will be offered on a cross border basis and will address the business community and ethnic/minority businesses and entrepreneurs.

From Prison to the Boardroom- Managing with Respect
John Lonergan, former governor of Mountjoy Prison will share his views on his management philiopsophy. Having worked in one of the most difficult and complex jobs in the country, his experiences often involved trying to balance the demands and expectations of many interest groups. In his seminar John will address the issue of Managing with Respect.
The seminar will also officially launch equal@work, an initiative led by Louth County Enterprise Board to provide SME and micro-businesses across County Louth with an online guide for encouraging best practice in managing diversity as a business resource.
The event will be held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk on Friday, 11th March 2011.

Diversity Champions Programme
Louth County Enterprise Board is currently working with 19 Louth companies in the Diversity Champions Programme. The programme aims to educate and inform on practical issues around employing and working in a diverse business environment, including advice on how to handle common issues arising within a diverse workforce.
The programme is delivered by Andrew Pierse from Collane HR and consists of two seminars focusing on areas such as employment policies, language and communication policies, diversity and business development policies. In addition the programme will look in depth at diversity and key business issues, illustrating with examples from other companies experience.
